The
Lok Sabha was informed today that the 7th Central Pay Commission is
broadly in line with the composition of the previous Central Pay
Commission. It will examine all aspects of emoluments' structure of
various categories of Central Government employees including Defence
personnel.
In a written answer, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said the government will decide the date of effect of the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission once the Commission submits its Report. He said the 7th Central Pay Commission is headed by Justice Ashok Kumar Mathur Retired Judge of the Supreme Court and erstwhile Chairman of the Armed Forces Tribunal. Mr. Vivek Rae, Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas, is the full-time Member of the Commission. The Director of National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, Dr. Rathin Roy, has been appointed as part-time Member, Mr. Chidambaram added. |
